The Beyond Form: Lines of Abstraction, 1950-1970 exhibition connects the work of over 50 women from across the globe through a shared language of radical abstraction.

The show is a major new event launched last weekend at the Turner Contemporary art gallery in the southeastern British town of Margate.

Comprising over 80 artworks, the exhibition includes fibre art by Polish artists Maria Teresa Chojnacka and Ewa Pachucka that symbolises resistance and liberation from state censorship or monitoring, according to the gallery’s website.

Radio Poland’s Michał Owczarek has the story.
